In the early 90s Biscayne Awning install a double carport canopy at our residence. We were very satisfied with the installation and it served us well for 20years. However, in June of this year (2012) a large Royal Poinciana Tree came down destroying the carport. We were so satisfied with Biscayne Awnings past performance and the quality of the product provided we again contracted with them for a new awning. As a civil engineer with field inspection experience I used this experience to fully inspect the new awning, particularly the welds. All aspects of the installation and materials of construction met my expectations; line and grade of the support structure (pipe stanchions and trusses) are as call-out on my provided design sketch; the welds (both the shop welds and the field welds) are clean and neat with proper penetration and neatly finished with a galvanic coating for corrosion resistance.
