The Ceramic League of Miami was founded in 1950 with the purpose of educating members and the general public in all aspects of ceramics. Our members volunteer to do demonstrations for school groups, scout troops, and at various public events in the community. Classes are offered throughout the year, at the League facility and taught by members. Several visiting artist workshops are offered during the year bringing nationally known ceramicists to teach and inspire the membership and the public. Our facility is well equipped with studios, wheels, a slab roller, an extruder, electric and gas kilns ( including two raku kilns ) and a fully stocked glaze formulation area. The organization is run by six elected officers and committee chairpersons. It is a non-profit organization funded primarily through dues, Ceramic League sales, and the Community School.
