Dr. George Corrent is fellowship trained in cornea and external disease. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of corneal diseases, cataracts, and glaucoma. Dr. Corrent received a PhD from Rice University and then received his Medical degree from the University of Texas. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Washington University School of Medicine, Barnes Hospital and went on to do a Fellowship in Cornea & External Disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, the nation’s top eye hospital. Dr. Corrent was on the faculty of the Cleveland Clinic and then from 2007-2015, he was an assistant professor at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, teaching clinical and surgical ophthalmology to residents and fellows. Dr. Corrent has published articles in many medical journals. He has been named to the Castle Connolly Top Doctors of Florida every year since 1996. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Corrent recently relocated from Naples and currently resides in Kendall. In his free time, Dr. Corrent enjoys tennis, kayaking, and the outdoors.
