Gina Landinez, M.D., is a diagnostic and interventional radiologist at two of Baptist Health’s premiere service lines: Miami Cancer Institute and Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. Her clinical, research and teaching interests include interventional oncology and palliation — areas where minimally invasive radiologic techniques are used for the treatment of various cancers and palliative needs. Specifically, Dr. Landinez focuses on the treatment and management of soft tissue and bone tumors, pathological fractures and malignant small bowel obstructions. She is utilizing cryoablation as an alternative option for the treatment of desmoid tumors and has been involved in creating unique treatment approaches for palliative care and life extension. Additionally, she treats several chronic hepatobiliary processes including cholelithiasis, choledocholithiasis and benign biliary structures utilizing a small scope and lithotripsy, freeing non-surgical patients of life-long drains. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Landinez served as an assistant clinical professor of clinical radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. Teaching is at the core of her love of medicine. Dr. Landinez says she enjoys teaching students, residents, and fellows because it is through teaching and a deep commitment to the younger generations of physicians that specialties and medicine in general are advanced forward. Dr. Landinez completed a general surgery internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at that same institution. She went on to complete an interventional radiology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Landinez’s research interests lie in interventional oncology, interventional palliation and healthcare disparities. She has shared her clinical knowledge and research findings in peer-reviewed medical journals as well as at national and international healthcare conferences. Dr. Landinez is a member of the American College of Radiology and Radiological Society of North America. She is also a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and Society of Interventional Oncology, where she serves on several committees for these professional organizations. Through her involvement in diversity and inclusion committees and outreach educational programs, Dr. Landinez is striving to achieve health equity by increasing access to healthcare for minority groups. She is also committed to supporting women in medicine and other underrepresented groups.   In her spare time, Dr. Landinez enjoys writing, running, and spending time with her children.
