Please beware!!! After you return the vehicle carefully check your credit card for unapproved debits to your card!!! I rented a vehicle from Rent Max in Miami, FL for one week in January 2013, the rental location is located off site and we had to wait over an hour and call their office several times before finally being picked up. After waiting even longer at the Rent Max office, we finally received our vehicle, a blue toyota corolla with over 65,000 miles, minor dents and scratches on the trunk and hood. The vehicle desperately needed a tune up, however, it did get us from point A to point B. When we returned the vehicle, I met with the manager, Katalina, and we walked around the vehicle together to complete the inspection. She said everything looked good and printed the final receipt which showed the "Driver total", "Driver Payments" (showing full payment), "Net Due from Driver" (showing 0.00), and "Please Pay this Amount" 0.00. After reviewing my credit card statement several days later, it showed that Rent Max changed my credit card without my knowledge an additional $250. I called several times before speaking to anyone that could give me a reason why this amount was charged. They stated that there was damage to the door panel and that is why I was charged $250. They refused to provide any proof of the damage, and they recommended that I should dispute it with my credit card company because they were not willing to reverse the charge. I hope other people are not taken advantage of the way we were.

This company runs a total scam. I booked them through Orbitz as their advertised rate was less than other companies. We got to MIA, took the shuttle to their off-site lot, and were then forced to purchase their insurance (at a daily rate even higher than the rental) as our company was not on their 'approved" list of 4-5 companies. We argued the point but got no where, and getting back to the airport to change companies was not an option, so had to agree.



Upon returning home I checked their rental policies listed both on Orbitz AND on the Rent Max site, and in both places it states the renter would be required to purchase coverage if they could not show proof of coverage of their own. NO mention of only honoring certain policies. Upon calling them to complain and request a refund, I have either been put on hold and left there, or told a supervisor would call me back (which never happens). DO NOT rent from this company.

DO NOT RENT ANY CARS FROM THIS PLACE... Please do not be fooled like I was I rented from this place and the cars they have were nasty I had to change cars about 4 times the first one was fairly decent but I asked for a more fuel efficient car and that is where my problems started the last car I took was a burgundy Ford Taurus and let me tell you the car had roaches yes you herd me right "Roaches" nasty disgusting yes I had to fumigate this car twice because I only used it to and from work because I had just been in a car accident don’t be fooled the cars they have their are rebuilt crashed cars. I only hope no one has to experience the same problems I am still dealing with this car place. I only wish to discuss this because I was fooled and mislead since I had never has to rent any cars before in my lifetime I was new to this
