My children love SCA we've been at this school for 7 years. I see all these negative comments and I want to clarify that the schools director and principal are no longer at this school. They have left a very negative impression of our school. The teachers deserve more than this, they're loving, caring and devoted to the students. I know all the teachers at this school and I can honestly say this about each one of them. I was there when the drama with the director occured, but she is gone now. My daughter attends prek at this school with the new teachers. My daughter writes her name, she knows numbers, letters and is reading three letter words. She loves her teacher and can't wait to go to school everyday. God Bless our teachers at SCA!!!

My daughter went to PreK-4 at this school. Since she started, she was getting sick once or twice a month every month (August-January), to the point of her doctor ordering for her to have an adenoidectomy and BMT done. I gave the teacher a doctor's order for my daughter not to play in the playground until specified, and to my surprise, I see her running around the playground when I picked her up. I asked this teacher if she had read the note and she told me she didn't. Then, I told her there was a doctor's order for my daughter not to play in the playground until specified. It was obvious that this woman had not paid attention to the note because every time I picked her up, I found her running around. I asked my daughter why was she not paying attention to this teacher and she told me that the teacher would tell her to go and play. The worst part was when my daughter told me that this supposedly professional woman was talking to the teacher's assistant making fun of me and saying how much she disliked me in the classroom, while my daughter and her friends were listening. My daughter felt horrible listening to this. I told two moms that I have become close with, and two other moms about the teacher blatantly ignoring the doctor's note. Someone must have said something negative to the Director, Janet Moss, because she became very defensive when I spoke to her about it. Somehow, the doctor's note I gave the teacher disappeared, even though this was a note that was turned in to cover her absence in addition to the order not to play in the playground, so I went to my doctor to get another one. The doctor does not file copies of the original so she had to write a new one specifying that date. This was not permissible to Director Moss, making me and my doctor look like liars. I told her that from this experience, I would have the teacher make me a copy after it was signed with the date on it, and she replied to me that I should give all the notes to both the administrative office and the teacher. I grew up and went to school here and never had to do that in my life. Isn't it the teacher's job to follow doctor's order in the first place. Where did this teacher get her Bachelors Degree. If you decide to choose this school for your preschooler, make sure you ask them questions about the teacher and what she says in the classroom about the parents, the principal and to the children, (she would tell my daughter that she did not like her job because it was bad). Also, check the bathrooms, especially the little toilet they have where they teach the preschoolers, the building where the pre-K playground is close to. That bathroom is dirty most of the time and they don't clean it often. They tell the kids to use it anyways even if it's dirty. Some kids got sick from that. It is obvious that there is a sanitation problem and nothing is being done for it. My daughter started school at The CLC and she has not gotten sick for over a month. This is a great relief for me because I know that if she would have stayed at SCA, she would have continued to be sick. Plus, the doctor decided not to go through the procedure and wait for now. What I also noticed is that her attitude has changed, she looks and acts so happy now and it's all because we got out of that school.

Apparently the preschool direc...

Apparently the preschool director is reading all the reviews about the school. She took the stage at the open house and guess what guys she wasn’t chewing gum. However, you forgot to present yourself to the parents. Also, the school has a 5 star because of the playground apparently. COME ON GUYS is that why you send your child to school for the playground. I guess that’s the only thing they can focus on to get their school ahead. And how sneaky she is hiring a so called “helper” around the school at the end of the year and guess what she is a teacher in PRE-K this year. And I thought the school had no money since the parents had to donate for events that we usually didn’t have to. SCA is this a person you want as your PRE SCHOOL DIRECTOR. Can’t you guys tell that the roll count has gone down. PRE SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP for the first year was a ghost town. And don’t tell me it was a great summer camp, look at your counts from previous years. This is what happens when you change who heads summer camp, oh that’s right you thought it was a great move for the school to get rid of her. NOT!!!!!! Your number of students who enrolled in summer camp will show it…Forget enrolled because some enrolled and then pulled their kids out. Let’s look at the final count. SCA board of directors if you are smart and don’t want your school numbers to go down you must do the right thing.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! I...

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. It is unforgiveable that 4 wonderful teachers were fired , what a loss to our children! The Director is unable to work with parents and doesn't care about others' opinions and concerns, if you express concerns, you are told you can leave! She lies to parents and she attempts to control all aspects of the school. She is accountable to no one, certainly not her conscience or good judgment. This Director should be forced to leave, or the teachers should start their own school without her. I will not return in the Fall and will sleep better for it.

Should be VERY CONCERNED! That is a horrible place to send your child. We had a very bad experience with our child. The Director acts sweet, but she treats the teachers like crap. Why don't you ask her why all the superb, loving, caring teachers left? She will make up a story but they all left because of her lack of experience. She doesn't know how to run a PRESCHOOL. There are great places and really genuine, experienced directors. NOT FAKE!!!!! write back if you want me to send you a list.. :)

I give one star just because several good teachers but in overall, as a father, i am extremely disappointed with the administration and managing of this school. My daughter has suffered of bullying all long the past school year to the point to need professional help. We took the case with the principal and the pastor of the school but they don't honor the school Policy about safety. They prefer forgiveness than prevent dangerous situations to the students. The most incredible thing was to see how the bullie student was rewarded with the principal honor roll in the awards ceremony at the end of the school year. Parents, stay away from this school if you expect safety for your children.

This school did not advice the parent for an entire year about the fact that the youth pastor Kevin was fired in September prior to the beginning of the year when he rebelled against pastor Debour s money making scheme, bringing the tally up to 4 now. Our children received no bible class thereby a deceitful decision taken by Pastor Debor. We paid to have this one service and yet this is the one service omitted. PARENTS WERE YOU AWARE YOUR CHILD RECIEVED NO CHAPLE THIS YEAR? If THIS IS NOT A a clear sample of the corruption in the school, I do not know what is.

School & teachers are GreaT, unfortunately prek director is making changes we dont consider appropiate. Teachers fired less than a week after they received a flower bouquet congratulating, celebrating how good they were, how happy we were of having them; what about that?. They keep saying "it has been a great year" if it was such great yr why were they fired? NOT fair, I know lots of parents feel the same way. They're signs of excellence & joy to our kids. They were doing their job right! When parents that pre-reg their kids for next yr find out teachers they were expecting are not there? that the curric.is probably different to that what they registered for? Will they get a refund? To internal problems, yes some should be internal, but as parents, we deserve the right to be informed of what happens in the school and more importantly nothing should be kept secret when it involves OUR KIDS EDUCATION. This question to director; you have kids, in such a tough economy, how would you feel if you are unfairly fired and have nothing to provide your kids? Like someone said "I will voice out my recommendations of this school until the removal of both of these individuals gets accomplished."

I’m disappointed at the chan...

I’m disappointed at the changes that happened this past year. This is what happens when the school hires a preschool director who has no experience in teaching or heading a preschool department. It’s clear as daylight why she was hired. Check out school’s website. She’s been in business management since 1991, managing personnel, negotiating vendor contracts, supervising engineering staff, providing oversight to support staff, planning BUDGETS, creating FINANCIAL REPORTS, & overseeing client relations. In 2004 she got involved in the educational field as a result of VOLUNTEER work. SCA you feel that this person is qualified to be a preschool director? Where does it state her experience in teaching? WHO HIRED HER? The NEW PASTOR! & to top it off she has removed the bible study from the curriculum. Are you kidding me this is a Christian school. And the pastor approves this. WOW!!!!!! A new preschool director & new pastor & the school goes to crap. & where is the school’s board of directors in all of this? OH yes, that’s right school board directors, “It’s all about the money.” I think that parents should have some say in changes that happen in the school since we do pay all of your salaries. And if questions do arise I want to hear a legitimate reason for your actions, not it's none of our concern. For that I send my child to a public school. Don't forget where you get your money to feed your kids and pay your bills.

The director at this school is horrible. She is never around when parents do drop offs or pickups. This is a crucial time to be around for parents to talk to her about any issues. When I call to talk to her she is not there (which I'm calling during my work hours). We as parents pay our children's tuition, which pays for her salary. It's unbelievable how we pay for her to not be there. My other daughter will be starting pre-school next year and I am happy to say she will not be going to Sunset.

I am a parent of two children ...

I am a parent of two children who attend SCA, I was so thankful when I found a school for my daughters that I felt they were loved, nurtured, educated and the word of God was part of the curriculum in pre-school. Their teachers were a blessing for my girls and my girls looked forward everyday to be in there class. What Mrs. Pilar and the Pastor have done is outrageous in firing 3 wonderful teachers, and the way they were treated at the end of school year. There is no evidence to fire these women, they just did not agree with her changes and they spoke out. Mrs. Pilar came with a purpose to clean house and that is exactly what she is doing! Evidently she is on vacation these next two weeks to see if this will go away! It is easier to hide than confront the situation. I love all the teachers there, I have no problem with them, it is the Pastor who apparently only cares about his budget and making money than ours kids best interest! This will change the whole moral of the school. Whoever is thinking about pre-school which is important milestone in our children's life, think twice not because of the teachers, but of the pre-school administrator and the Pastor!!!

A school that I have considered to be an EXCELLENCE with GREAT TEACHERS is just coming apart. It is really sad. Unfortunately actions taken by the pre-school director and superiors have put the school in the DARKNESS. Three wonderful teachers from Pre-K were fired for no justifiable reason. I believe the position of pre-school director has been given to the wrong individual. I don t believe is appropriate to have someone as a Pre-school director with a degree in management , it s like having an accountant telling a surgeon what to do! Don t try to kill two birds with one stone, you are involving the future ground of our kids which is Loving GOD . There needs to be some internal restructuring or the school will never be the same. One of the most horrifying changes is that she has removed the bible study from the curriculum . ON A CHRISTIAN School !!!! that is very unchristian!

Extremely disappointed with SC...

Extremely disappointed with SCA Preschool Director. Since the new preschool director started this school year 2010 -2011, things are going down the hill, no improvements of any kind. The way that the school sold us the Director was as pure Gold, but as parents of pre- school children s only got junk aluminum. The resumes that she presented to the Board of the school do not match her practices. Hope the school authorities at SCA take some action regarding the job of this called Pres school Director. By the same token I want to express my gratitude to the teachers of Pre School, who I know them since my son was in PK-2, till know that he is in PK-4. They excel their duties not only teaching them, but also showing care, and genuine appreciation for the children in their class. BESTEST PRESCHOOL TEACHERS. The only way I will go back to SCA with my youngest daughter is if SCA top authorities change the Pre School Director.
