Food was really good. Fresh cut fries, juicy hamburger. Service left a lot to be desired. Did not feel like us out-of-towners were very welcomed.

I have been eating at Alenes for about 3 years, since they opened. They have different specials every day. The salad bar has the most variety in Miami. I have never gotten a bad meal. It is like the mom and pop restaurants from our small town childhood.

I called this restaurant a couple of times one day to learn more about their operating hours. Both times, the phone was picked up and, though no one said hello, I heard people talking in the background. The last time, I was able to understand pieces of the conversation, which went like this: “Out of area, out of area, out of area…. the great thing about caller ID is you don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to.” The connection then died.

I was offended by the experience and made the decision to avoid the restaurant in the future.
