Prescribes Overpriced Prescriptions

Brought my daughter in for a simple case of acne and the Doctor prescribed a topical gel and an oral anti-biotic. My insurance has a health fund so I don’t pay for prescriptions until the fund is depleted. Just found out that the two prescriptions cost $500 each so one moth of treatment cost $1,000. The Doctor never mentioned the cost of these drugs and I have no idea who could afford $12,000/year for Acne treatment.I’m told there are much more generic (and cost effective) drugs available so the only conclusion I have is that there must be some form of payback from the pharmaceutical company to the doctor. Note, my daughter will not be going back.

Did good by us........

My daughter is receiving on going treatment so we deal with this office often. I have never felt rushed and I do not wait any longer than any other Dr's. I always get the last appt. of the day so if their schedule slips I am affected but it has never been long. The Dr. has never rushed us in fact the Dr's and staff take the time to explain everything. Due to the high cost of the dermo drugs the staff is always aware of what drug programs are avaiable and make sure we have all the info we need to take advantage of these programs. My husband is also a paitient and he gets the earliest appts and he has no wait and he has a long term problem which he feels he is getting a good treatment plan for.

Not Customer Friendly

Having had removal of skin cancer, the doc said if anything returned to get in immediately. Called for an appointment because it returned and looked worse and was told I couldn't see the doctor for 3 months. Even after explaining, the receptionist didn't budge nor did she offer for me to see another doctor. No problem, I called another doctor in newburgh and got seen the next day. Switching my family, all of whom had gone to this office, to the Newburgh doc.

Long wait and rude staff

Arrived early for appointment and didn't get in to see the doctor until 15 minutes after scheduled appointment time. The receptionist was rude, answered phone and co-workers questions while I waited at the counter. Tne doctor gives the bum rush and couldn't get us out of the examination room quick enough. Did little to resolve the problem that brought us to the office that day. Left the office very aggravated by the treament from everyone from the receptionist, the doctor and the payable/appointment person. I will be looking for a new dermatologist.
