This is an excellent program. As an employed full time single mother of two children, public services denied us of food stamps because although I was out of work due to illness, and unfortunate in the process of loosing my home to foreclosure, the fact that I still am employed and had anticipated to return to work within two months, disqualified us. I just needed temporarily help. At the time Legal Services of The Hudson Valley assisted me with my home, and recommended People for People... Thank God for These organizations. ,People for People assisted me and paid my monthly car payment and I was able to purchase groceries. The process was lengthily. Overall I am forever grateful. Was able to take my child to Doctors' appointments and myself back to work. I could have lost my vehicle to repossessed. Again I would encourage anyone in desperate /dire straights to reach out. Very kind staff, caring and professional.
