The Abell-Hanger Foundation was created by the late George and Gladys Abell to carry on the philanthropic endeavors that they pursued during their lifetimes. The foundation assets are more than $190 million. Grant requests fall into three broad categories: general operating support, capital and equipment or special projects. The grant application requirements of the foundation differ for each of these categories of requests. The organization seeking a grant should be located in the state of Texas. National organizations with significant operations in, or providing material benefits to the citizens of Texas will be considered based on the degree of operations or benefits within the state.
