DON'T TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!

I was never so disappointed in a pediactric practice as I am with this one. My children have always LOVED going to the doctor or dentist because they listen to their concerns, then explain what they will be doing in order to alleviate those fears. I took 2 of my children (ages 6 & 3) for 2 fillings each. As always, they were happy & excited to be going to the dentist. Despite the fact that they were calm & happy, the dentist insisted on using Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) to "calm" them. My 6 yr old was fine, but my 3 yr old became very frightened because of the disorientation and dizziness that the Nitrous caused. Rather than removing it when I told them he was not reacting well, they insisted he keep it on & began the procedure anyway. He may have been less fearful if they just explained what was happening (this is just water, this is just air, etc), but they never bothered. My son has NEVER been scared or upset at the dentist before, but now I will have to force him to go to the next appointment (which will be at a DIFFERENT dentist). Thanks to this dentist, he may always harbor a fear for any medical profession from this point on. I am SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
