With TVWorks software, cable subscribers can experience advanced services, such as electronic program guides, personal video recorders, video on demand, interactive advertising, enhanced programming, portals and games. These services are compatible with conventional cable boxes as well as other emerging devices. TVWorks traces its history back to 1973 and the founding of Cableshare. The company then teamed with Oracle's NCI division and Netscape's Navio spin-off and became Liberate Technologies. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Double C Technologies, a joint venture between Comcast Communications and Cox Communications, two of the largest cable operators in the world. TVWorks has offices in London, Ontario and Mill Valley, Calif.
