Dutchess Day School offers education to more than 170 students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. It conducts classes on various subjects, including science, math, social studies, history, English and physical education. Dutchess Day School s visual arts program is designed to encourage creative thinking and develop skills and conceptual understanding of art. Additionally, its curriculum allows students to make use of drawing, painting, clay modeling and printmaking. Dutchess Day School s lower school program allows students to learn and discover in self-contained classrooms with their teachers and in the music room, art studio, computer center, gymnasium, science lab and library with faculty specialists in these fields. In addition, it offers a parents-teacher association that serves as room parents, chaperons on class trips, and volunteers in school fundraisers and community events.
