I first went to New Rave shortly after I moved a mere quarter of a mile from it's location. Honestly, Sunshine Cleaners is a tiny bit closer but so much more expansive, so I decided to give New Rave a try with their $2.49 per garment deal.
First of all, good luck finding a woman's garment that fits the $2.49 deal. However, the prices were still reasonable compared to other area cleaners. I noticed that the first round of dry cleaning I picked up from them had a bit of a weird smell to it, but I brushed that off, thinking that it was just their supposedly "organic" cleaning methods. After I picked up the second round and the smell was not only worse, but my clothes were noticably smaller, I decided not to return.
But ahh... silly me. I was lured in once again with their deal to clean Uggs for $20 and up. I brought my Uggs in filled with hope that they would return to me clean and fresh. I was told that it would be $35 for my Uggs and since it was mid-season, I decided to hold off. The girl at the counter assured me that when I did bring them in, they'd be refreshed and looking like new.
I recently revisited New Rave with my Ugg boots and Ugg slippers in tow and dropped them off for cleaning. However, when I picked them up, I was CONVINCED that the Ugg boots they handed me were not mine but someone elses. The sand color exterior and even lighter interior were a both now dark brown. My blue Ugg slippers had a ring of grayish-brown around the entire slipper. Flustered, the counter girl got the manager - the owner of the place.
She informed me the reason that my Uggs did not come back as expected was because:
1. I bought cheap ones made in China, NOT the ones made in Australlia.
2. I wore them excessively and therefore they were beyond repair (definitely not true)
3. There is no way for them to know how the colors will react when they run them through (Hello - maybe tell your customer that before the handover expensive footwear)
4. They are too old to be cleaned. After which, she told the counter girl to no longer accept old Uggs. To which I replied, Yup, because people with brand new Uggs want to get them clean.
Now I am left with one pair of slippers that looks worse than I did before I brought them in, and one pair of boots that look nothing like the ones I brought it. Not to mention that they were both gifts from my husband and he was always suspicious of this place to begin with... Never again. In fact, I am disgusted I have to see this place every day.

Provided by YPmobileThings are looking up for New Rave.. Not the friendliest work there but I go because the prices are excellent and they always do a great job... Picked up & dropped off my husbands dry cleaning and I usually have a grumpy teenager at the desk, but I went in and a girl I never saw before was cheerful, quick, polite and helpful, we chitchatted and she made my day! Hopefully i will see more of her instead of the others. All around great job to these people... THAT'S what I'm talking about New Rave!!! :-)
