I've been to this place about 5 times, and not only is the coffee and food good, so is the discussion. Fuel is right in the nook of Riverwest and the ghetto of Milwaukee, so once you cross over, it's an entirely different world. You go from having (mainly) black people mean mugging you as you drive past to a world where race is irreverent, everyone is equal, and discussing how putrid and crooked our country can be as you inhale the secondhand smoke from the skinny, dirty-looking punk sitting next to you or inhale your own smoke. Either way, you're gonna get an earful and come back home opinionated, buzzed from the caffeine and nicotine or stuffed from the sandwiches, but generally feeling good about having been there.
