You have the best hobby shops in WI
I have been a customer of yours for many years and I know first hand what you and your family have done for the Hobby. I also have learned allot from you. You have helped me from day one. I first met Scott at A flyin in Port Washington. The Astrowings flying club. Scott demonstrated his aircraft and flying skills at the Special Olympics fly in. I was so impressed that I came down to Milwaukee and I stopped in your Store on 76th St get A plane. Laurie sold me A trainer that she recommended I think it was an Avistar. It was more then I expected to spend but it was well worth it. Scott took me out and showed me how to fly it. I was surprised how ignorant I was and thankful that he went out with me to teach me how to fly. I would have crashed it right away if it had been for hooking up the buddy box. Scott must have saved it at least a dozen times the first day out. Now that is Customer service. I was in the National store when you had a store full of customers and you were answering some ones questions about a car that he bought on the Internet
He did not even get it from you but you were trying to help him. He got mad at you because you had to ring me up on the register and he stormed out of the store. I don’t know how you have put up with some of these people.
All the Happy hobby shops have a very large selection of fun stuff for every one.
I have been in the other hobby shops all over the country. Nothing compares to your stores Happy Hobby. You have always been able to help me and have what I needed in stock. Thank You!
I recommend Happy Hobby to everyone “Good choice”

Provided by YP.comWhile I was in Milwaukee for 2 weeks on business I stopped into two of their locations to see what I may find. I agree with what the people here are saying about the store and owner. This place is a dump.
He is very rude and arrogant!
The first store I went to was the one located on North 76th Street. The first thing I noticed was other than the lights on behind the counter the store was dark. The rest of the store was black. I asked if they were closing due to the lack of lights and the gale behind the counter said no. She asked if I have any experience and in the RC field, and I explained that I have been flying rc helicopters for years and was curious as to what they may have for a trainer airplane. She pointed to an old beat up airplane hanging from the ceiling and stated she would be willing to sell it for $300.00. I quickly said that’s not going to work, she than brought me back to where they keep their RC planes (the only other room in the store with a light on. I didn’t see anything I was interested in and proceeded to leave.
I than decided I would try another one of their locations thinking mybe I would find something there. I headed over to the store located on West National Drive. Like the other commenter stated “the dog is the best part of the experience”. All I can say is this place is a bigger dump than what I could see of the last place. There is “stuff” everywhere! Looking at the water stains on the boxes, the smell and the dehumidifier in the back of the store, they have a water problem. There was a customer in the store while I was there asking the owner about getting a bigger RC helicopter than the one he currently owned. The owner proceeded to try to sell him an E-Flite Blade 400 helicopter. The customer again stated he wanted something bigger, only to be lectured and ridiculed by the owner as to why bigger is not better. He looked at me and asked “do you need something?” I smiled and stated “no thank you, I am in town from Minneapolis and enjoy stopping at other hobby stores to see what I can find”. I than commented that it’s nice to see someone in the industry that actually flies RC helicopters. He turns back to me and asks “what do you mean by that?” I simply stated that back in Minneapolis I have seen hobby store employee’s actually talk customer’s out of a sale because it’s not what “they” the employee are interested in. He then barked “I AM NOT TALKING HIM OUT OF A SALE”. I was shocked by his reaction to what I thought was a compliment to him! Than he got all nasty and pissed and walked away.
Bottom line! Avoid this guy and his stores. If this is how he is going to react to a new customer in his store, screw him and his business. Apparently he has enough money and doesn’t need ours. The reason we are losing our local hobby stores to the online industry is simple, customer service. Believe me when I say you will not find good customer service dealing with this guy here. I will fully argue the point on supporting our local businesses over buying online any day. But not in this case, it is amazing he is in business.

Provided by YP.comI like the place!
Different strokes for different folks. I read the other reviews and yes the store is a little overwhelming. I walked in and saw trains, planes, radio control cars trucks helicopters every where I looked I saw Rockets, Boats, models of every type. I wish I would have known about them when my son had his science project for school they had a working model of a volcano. Birdhouse kits bird feeder kits. A man came up to me and asked if he could help me. I asked if he had Lionel trains he showed me where. I needed some track. He asked me what kind of track do you need that’s when I looked at him and shrugged my shoulders I don’t know I just need some Lionel track. He was very patient with me and showed me several types of track that Lionel runs on. I could not tell witch one it was that I needed. So I left for the day. I returned the next day and I brought a piece of the track with this time. He saw me come in and looked at the track right away he new what kind and size it was. He went and got me what I needed. I looked around some more and found a bunch of paint by numbers and jigsaw puzzles. I had to get some of them.
Good place to shop

Wonderful experience at Happy Hobby
Will try to make it short
I went in to look at R/C trucks for my son’s birthday and boy was I educated.
The owner was very direct with what he thought I should get for them.
Did not know what to think about that but he is one that fixes them day in and day out. Anyway I ended up getting a RC from him that he recommended to us because of price durability and parts availability.
Well we got the truck home and out of the box. Charged it up. We took it outside and ran it. Was it fun and it worked great until I drove it! Right in to the road and a car drove over it. I felt sick my son did not feel so good ether. We picked it up and drove back to Happy Hobby. I told the storeowner what happened and he looked over the car and sad no problem it can be fixed. He helped us look up the part numbers for the stuff I broke and checked to see if he had them in stock. He did and he showed us how to replace them. I was skeptical that I would do it wrong so I left it with him to fix. I was told it would take a day or two before he would be able to get to it and that he would call me when it was done. Well I left and had some other running around to do but when I did get home there was a message to come and get the car it was ready. Now how about that.
I highly recommend Happy Hobby. They have parts in stock and do the repairs in house.
Have to Love the place

Provided by YP.comI am currently 6 months into a r/c habit that has my wife thinking I have a girlfriend with all the time I spend on it. I had recently bought 2 BLADE CX-2'S and absoulutely love them so I stepped up and bought a 400 3d eflite heli all from scott and lori at Happy Hobby. I got myself into a little trouble by crashing the 400 and cx-2's and went in several times noticably frustrated only to find extremely helpfull and good people who both dropped what they were doing to help my and my problem. I am not the type to expect the over and above service I recieved and wanted to say thanks. I will go back as long as my habit (and wife) allow because they treat people like they matter....
