We, the people of Three Holy Women Catholic Parish, rooted in the Roman Catholic faith, honor the traditions of our diverse parish, and come together as a family of faith, worship and service. Knowing that we are loved by God and guided by the Spirit, we strive to be the welcoming voice and the serving hands of Jesus, spreading His love within the East Side community, in union with the Church throughout the world. In 2000, three venerable east side parishes, St. Hedwig, St. Rita Cascia and Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, merged to create one vibrant entity - Three Holy Women Parish. The name and logo for the parish blends the old and the new and was chosen to clearly combine the messages of the lives of St. Hedwig, St. Rita and Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary. The three crowns in our logo represent defining moments for the three patronesses. St. Hedwig set aside her gold crown as queen of Poland to serve the poor. A crown of thorns was a special grace given to St. Rita fo r her great charity and severe penance. The garland of roses crowing Mary as Queen of the Most Holy Rosary represents the "rosaries" prayed asking for her intercession. Each one of the churches that represent Three Holy Women parish has a rich history of its own and serves as a beacon of faith for Milwaukee's lower east side Catholic community.
