IF YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE AND ARE LOOKING FOR A NURSING FACILITY TO CARE FOR THEM--DO NOT PICK VILLAGE AT MANOR PARK! (Please see my full report on SiteJabber.com under the search Village at Manor Park). Mom in from 10/2015-7/2016 initially for a broken arm. For the 18 weeks it took to heal, no therapy was done on my Mom's legs to keep them strong so she could continue to walk with her walker. Mom received numerous injuries & lacerations due to the incompetence of the aides. Nurses, except 1, just go thru the motions-it's just their job. Many aides felt the same way. Family meetings were a waste of time. Never anything accomplished meeting after meeting. Finally called the SE Wisconsin Ombudsman who contacted facility. Told was more a nursing problem, referred to the State of WI Nurse who monitors nursing homes (said 2 other complaints against VMP were also filed). Nurse did not find any incident reports as to my Mom's injuries in Mom's file which is against Medicare regulations, even the time that they sent Mom to the hospital to ER 4 x-rays on her leg due to the aides scraping her leg all the way from ankle to knee on the bedframe. Had Mom on thickened liquids and chopped food due to their speech therapist stating she needed that. Which we found out was not needed as of 10/2016. How they made their decision is unknown. Mom was coughing a lot. They thought food & liquids were going down the wrong pipe. Aides were never around, has a scam. 1 would come in to answer call button & state she'd be right back. 20 min later a different aide came in after my mom had been sitting in her feces for that whole time. Staff including Dept. Heads and Soc Worker were very rude & full of excuses, denying things we actually saw happen, but they still denied it. The state nurse found nothing in my Mom's file re her injury incidents-against law & Medicare guidelines. Was told a full out investigation would be conducted.
