Leon L. Williamson Funeral Home, formerly the Williamson Funeral Home founded by W. Lamar Williamson in 1950, has been serving the greater Milwaukee Community with great pride and dignity. Upon graduation from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois, Lamar started the business in a converted residence on North Seventh Street. On Palm Sunday of 1960 he moved to a larger facility on North 12th.
Williamson Funeral Home is currently under the ownership of Lamar's son, Leon, who joined the family business in 1966 as a licensed funeral director. Leon's commitment to the family business and community is evidenced by the extensive renovations to Leo n L. Williamson Funeral Home's current location at 2157 N. 12th Street, which were completed in 1992.
