Authentic Chinese food at its best! Who knew Minden and Gardnerville would have an outstanding fresh Chinese restaurant like the Mandarin Gourmet? They beat any Chinese food restaurant from South Lake Tahoe, Carson City AND Reno. Why? Because the food is fresh. It's HOT when it's brought to your table. The restaurant is very clean. Their servers are always right there when you want something and the owner has a killer smile! I love the chicken chow mein. The general chicken is just spicy enough and there's a little crunch to all the vegetables so you know it's fresh and not reheated. The sweet and sour pork is lean and always fresh tasting. The egg drop soup is served HOT and could cure a cold if need be. It would be nice to have a bowl of their soup on a cold winter day. My only complaint: they don't deliver. I'd recommend to everyone living here or just passing through Minden or Gardnerville to try the Mandarin Gourmet.
