Provided by YP.comWhen looking for an installer, I was thorough. I even read others reviews of Anderson's New Carpet Design. BUT I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because sometimes people just like to complain. Now that I have had my carpet installed by Anderson's New Carpet Design, here are my thoughts:
CONS:
*They are very rude, impatient, and intimidating to work with. The guy is just really not a very nice person. He definitely can be nice if he thinks he will lose your business. Even when they were installing, all they did was bad mouth other customers to each other.
*He does not listen to the client at all, and does not always keep things he promised in the consultation/quote.
*As far as the install went...
1.)They scratched up my baseboards. (not very considerate in taking care of walls, trim, etc.)
2.)They did a very poor job putting down the carpet padding (It was very patchy. I noticed it before they laid the carpet, but I thought they were going to fix it... but no. When you are walking on the carpet now, your foot sinks down into holey areas.)
3.)In a few areas the carpet is not all the way under the baseboard, so you can just see the edge of it.
*After the carpet was installed, I started noticing tons of bugs in the carpet. They were everywhere, and were definitely not in the house before the install. I don't know if where he was keeping the carpet kept the bugs out or not. Either way, the bugs finally subsided, after lots of cleaning. No harm done.
*One last thing. For the health conscious out there, whatever adhesive they use on the padding is very very strong. So strong that it is hard to be in the house without effects for the first day or so.
Now for the PROS:
*They weren't the cheapest installer that I looked into, but it definitely was not the most expensive either. I would say it was a pretty good deal. He did charge us exactly what he had quoted.
*You cannot see any of the seams in the carpet, which is great!
*It definitely was a way better job than I could probably do myself.
With all this said.... would I use them again? Probably not. But I am not going to regret it either. Life is too short for that. In the long run, my carpet looks good, and it was good on our budget. If you use Anderson's New Carpet Design in the future, you are NOT crazy. You just have to know what to expect. I just wanted to come on here and share my thoughts for others who may be searching for an installer. Hope this review was helpful!
