Guys can't find a part unless you bring in the serial#, Model#, year, your birthdate and social security number, what? They are older guys so you would figure they have some knowledge of small engines, but you would be wrong. Maybe they were just mad because they had to work on a Saturday, either way spend your money anywhere else and the rest of your day will be bliss.

Need parts? This is your place! Friendly people, fast service, and great advice.....some sarcasm may be present, all good. For DIY this place is a gold mine.

good shop

I frequent Cedar Small engine mostly for parts. They have a great selection of new parts in stock and in some cases I have been able to get good used parts as well. Service is good and the parts staff helpful. They can be busy after a heavy snow, but the wait is rewarded with personalized service. Thanks.

Great Business

Very knowledgeable staff. Always have the parts I need regardless of the age of the equipment. Extremely busy shop and sometimes it takes a few minutes to get waited on. Not many places you can go and get the help these people provide! I'll go to them every time I need small engine service or parts.

Refused Service

I came in and after waiting for about 15-20 minutes as customers that came in after me was served, I finally got someone to talk to. I have a snow blower that is in need of repair and before I got out another word out I was informed that they are only doing lawn mowers now. I would have to wait until September before they would deal with me, good-bye. I agree, good-bye, from people like me and anyone else are like me that I talk to.

Horrible

Called to ask if they had a belt for a snow blower. Was told they were too busy to answer question over the phone, was told could be helped if came in. Went into store, was told they were too busy to help me. Woman offered to help after I explained I was told I could be helped if I came in. She was not helpful. Waste of time, horrible service.

brought snow blower 2 times in for repair same problem

Snowblower dies after 10 minutes under heavy load. 1rst trip to repair they gauranteed me its a carburator problem. Cost 150.00 had the work performed carb rebuild.Got home snow blowed for 10 minutes and the mower died.2nd trip same problem they said there is no problem that it runs fine. They lectured me on not leaving gas in the tank. I haved drained it each time I used it , it only runs for 10 minutes !!I still have the same problem since there is no way to put a load on the snow blower at their shop to re-create the problem. Oh I did not mention it takes 2-3 weeks for them to look at the snow blower.

My experience

I purchased a Toro single stage snow blower model 38583 from Cedar Small Engine. They delivered it, should me how to operate it. This machine did just what they said it would do. It works great. I highly recommend them.

Either inept or untrustworthy

1st, they did NOT tell me that their $30 "deposit" is NOT a refundable deposit, it is an estimating fee. 2nd, their front desk wrote on their slip that they WOULD call me before doing any work. 3rd, They called with an estimate -for only HALF of the job. I declined the work. 4th, The mechanic, who works on commission, just went ahead and did the work!

Service-service-service

I have been a customer for approximately the past 18 years..If you want excellentSERVICE, I suggest that you give these folks a try..I purchased a used Sears snow-blower originally. I had such good luck with it that I was looking for a used mower. Iopted to buy a new Snapper(at least 15 yrs ago) and have NOT had any problems..Isold the Sears snow blower as it was too small for my needs. I went back and purchaseda used ARIENS snow thrower and couldn't be happier. I only wish that I was closer tothem or they closer to me!!?? If you need a used/new piece of lawn/snow equipment, these are the peeps that you should see.

Horrible Service

I brought my mower in for a carb repair and tune up on May 5th 2010 and they said it would be 1.5 to 2 weeks for it to be fixed. I finally called on May 25th and the guy said it would be another week because they were backed up. And the kicker was he was a complete jerk about it before I could say anthing about it being longer than I was quoted. I finally picked up my mower yesterday... not even started after a month so it's still broken! And I'm out $50.00 to have a service mow my lawn twice! At least they gave me my $30.00 deposit back. Never use this shop!!
