place is a little run down, but it gives a really great atmosphere. staff is friendly, and the burgers are phenomenal. not to mention you get a LOT of fries if you order those.

OMG ! We were there Feb 6th 2012 and this place is disgusting, needs major renovation. We had to ask the waitress/cashier to wipe the table off and her response was " I already did but I will do it again" obviously the table was improperly cleaned. The drinking glasses were filthy. The Juicy Lucy was burnt with watery semi orange stuff oozing out of the middle, I wouldn't recommend this place to a stray animal. NO STARS DESERVED BUT I HAD TO GIVE A STAR RATING. ~ UNACCEPTABLE.COM ~

we went on the search for the best jucy lucy in minneapolis..U dont have to go far...just go to Matt's Bar. The atmosphere...waiting in line and then leaving at 2:30 in the afternoon to another line waiting outside...awesome place to eat!!! We will be going back!!!!

A great place for some wonderful burgers and a friendly atmosphere

I have been to many others, who say they are the home of the juicy lucy, but no one compares to Matts! They are the best in town and always fresh. Kathleen

This one is a favorite with my husband. They are famous for their "Juicy Lucy" burger. I'm not a big fan, myself. Otherwise it's an average diner. Not a very big menu.
