The Minnesota Disability Law Center (MDLC) addresses the legal needs of individuals with physical and mental disabilities in Minnesota to advance the dignity, self-determination and equality. It provides civil legal assistance on issues related to disabilities. The center is a part of the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis, which is one of the oldest programs in the United States that provides a range of civil legal services. It serves the low-income residents and senior citizens of Hennepin County in Minnesota. The program oversees a staff of more than 85 employees. The Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis focuses on housing, public benefit and family law issues. Founded in 1913, the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis is operated by Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance, which offers legal advice and representation to low-income clients in central Minnesota.
