The company provides electric utility service to more than 1million customers and natural gas utility service to approximately 500,000 customers. Northern States Power Company-Minnesota maintains an electric production and transmission system and owns United Power and NSP Nuclear Corporation. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Xcel Energy, which serves electric and natural gas customers in Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota and South Dakota.
