Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association mission is to sustain a strong south Minneapolis community. Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association was formed in 1982 to strengthen this inner-city, south Minneapolis neighborhood bounded by Lake Street, Cedar Avenue, 38th Street and Chicago Avenue by building connections among the neighborhood's members ( residents, property owners, employees and businesses ) and working to support their collective efforts to address community concerns. From offering restorative justice programming and creating community development plans to connecting businesses with support services and collaborating with other neighborhoods, our activities strengthen the commitment to civic involvement in the community. PPNA's top priorities as identified by our Board are to: PPNA is a volunteer-based, fiscally sound, results oriented, private non-profit corporation. A volunteer Board of Directors ( elected to two-year terms by members of the neighborhood ) guides PPNA and the work of its Program Committees. These Committees focus on priority issues that have been identified at neighborhood meetings: Staff support is also provided to the Powderhorn Art Fair Committee. PPNA meetings are open to all interested parties. We have strong membership support, generally raising about $100, 000 per year from our membership, event income and fee-for-service activities.
