Will not return! Been here multiple times, last night (April 1, 2014) with the intent to use a Living Social voucher. The restaurant did not honor my voucher's promotional value, which states "Enjoy by April 1, 2014." This language includes, does not exclude April 1. The restaurant's response: That's Living Social's fault; their contract requires honoring the voucher only through March 31. Interesting: A promotion to bring in customers is denied, not on clear language to the customer, but on a secret contract. Moreover, if you are trying to bring in customers, is this the battle you choose? Is one day that big of a deal? Is Spoonriver's profit that much more important than satisfying customers with an enjoyable dining experience? This decision certainly reveals this restaurant's mixed-up priorities.

LA Style

I've had many meals at Spoonriver. Brenda is amazing and the food is always fresh, interesting and full of flavor. The best part about Spoonriver... You know where your food came from! All Local and Organic!

Best of the Best

Absolutely the best restaurant in Minneapolis. Brenda buys fresh local ingredients & makes the most delicious gourmet food. I have been following Brenda since she opened Cafe Kardamina, a hole in the wall restaurant in St Paul circa 1970,s with great food and have been following her ever since religiously.

Pretentious

We recently had the misfortune of having Sunday Brunch at Spoon River. It was a huge disappointment - after all the hype, we found it missed the mark. Food was mediocre, decor ordinary and the wait staff seemed like refugees from a bad acting class. The french toast was soggy on top & hard on the bottom, the "world famous, award winning" bloody marys were nothing more than a glass of spices. The owner should really reevalute what "trendy" means - this was just another cookie-cutter place. Skip it if you can!
