Provided by YP.comI went to the ER looking for answers to my medical issue, came out with no answer.
I don't remember the nurse and doctor's names but they were both caucasian blond females. The nurse had curly hair and the doctor had a short bob cut hairstyle. They're probably in their late 30s early 40s.
While on my period, an unfamiliar tissue came out of my vaginal. Freaked out because it was the first time, I went to the ER at Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN. The waiting time in the ER wasn't too bad.
When I met with the nurse helping me out, I explained to her my situation, showed her the tissue and asked her for her professional opinion. She wasn't sure but gave me her best guess (which turns out to be correct later on).
When I met with the doctor helping me out, she took a super quick glance at the tissue (she barely looked at it) and told me she has no clue what it could be. She told me that it's probably just part of a tampon. (Really?) I told her it's not because I touched it and it feels like tissue/skin. Despite what I said, she looked at me as if I was dump and said that it's probably part of a tampon.
I told them that I know I'm fine and I just want to know what the tissue was. The doctor said that they can't do testing on the tissue and must test my instead. So I got a basic check up with a pee test and pelvic exam. The results came back that I was perfectly fine (which I already knew) and I wasn't pregnant. So, me not being pregnant cancels out the miscarriage idea but it still doesn't tell me what the tissue was.
After getting the test results of my pee, the doctor said that I was free to go home. I then again asked her to take a look at the tissue and tell me what she thought it was. Again, she said that she didn't know and that it's probably part of a tampon. -__- I left feeling annoyed and frustrated that I wasted my time going there not finding an answer to my issue AND I will be charged for the ER fees, basic check up, and pelvic exam. I wasn't very happy on my drive back home.
When I got home, I did an online search and answered my own question, which I should have done earlier. I learned that the tissue was my uterus during my period. I self-diagnose myself and gave myself better medical service by using the internet. -_____-
Get this, when the doctor asked me when was the last time I got my pap smear, I got the most messed up reaction ever. She said, "You're 25, sexually active and have not got a pap smear?! That also means you haven't got a pelvic exam" with a belittle look on her face. As a professional, you're not suppose to do that and judge someone like that but no, not her. I know I should be getting pelvic exams and pap smears on a regular basis but not everyone can afford it for whatever reason they may have. UGH!
