Provided by YPmobileI went to Stylique Salon which is the base salon in the bx. A female named SheQuita did my hair yesterday. You would think it's pretty difficult to mess up a shampoo, condition, trim and blow dry straight but I assure you she did, and had an attitude while doing it. From the moment I arrived, I seemed to be an inconvenience to her (I called ahead and scheduled an appointment). Anytime I asked her a question or said anything she ignored me until I repeated it 2-3 times and then answered with an attitude.
She washed my hair with scalding hot water, which burned my scalp and bled a lot of the color out. This is the first salon in all of my travels that I have not sat under a dryer to have my hair deep conditioned. When I sat at her station chair, she sprayed 2 spritz of leave in conditioner and 2 spritz of heat protection on my hair - that is ALL the product/protection she used in my hair.
Every stylist I've been to blow dry my hair downward and straight and never even used a flat iron. This stylist blow dryed my up and out into a poofy brittle nappy tangled afro ( I have middle eastern hair, and didn't even know that was possible) and then flat ironed the tangled mess. You could see the smoke coming off of my hair. She burned it to the point that there are random glossy brittle burn imprint spots in my hair (like it you leave an iron on your jeans too long). Some of MY HAIR FELL OUT at the parts where she burned it. She was also supposed to trim my ends, but I still have split ends.
By the time I was getting out of her chair I was close to in tears and was visibly upset. She never once asked me if anything was wrong with the hair do, if I liked it, or if it was what I expected. She just asked for payment and told me bye.
When it was brought to the attention of the manager she took no accountability and basically said it was my fault for not making a special request with SheQuita. I shouldn't have to make a special request for the stylist to not burn my hair off. She didn't even offer to compensate me with a deep condition on the hair her stylist damaged.
