I live here in the Ruthville mobile home lot as a renter. When I first moved in three years ago, rent was $350. The half of a double wide that I rent is spacious, but in a lot of disrepair. It was worth $350 to put up with the extensive water damage and malfunctioning wall sockets, faucets, rotting floorboards, etc. Parkway Estates bought out the elderly couple that used to own this place, and promised immediate repairs. They replaced the rotted porches and tore out a bunch of trees to make the area look more respectable. They were going to pave too, but that never happened. For about seven months now (ever since they raised the rent to $650), they've been promising repairs for the multiple issues wrong with this building. The floorboards under the tub, toilet, and sink in the bathroom are all rotted from water damage. The faucet in the bathroom is badly corroded. The kitchen sink has no water pressure. There are holes all throughout the orange-with-age lenolium floor in three of the rooms, several wall sockets don't work, there are two broken windows, the hot water lasts for about 5 minutes, there is no air conditioning for summertime (I have my own window unit), and worst...the walls have settled so that they don't connect between the bathroom and bedroom, and sound carries between this half of the double wide and the other side so that normal conversations can be easily overheard. Anything louder than that is like having your neighbors in the same room with you. I've been through three different neighbors. The first set was during the $350 rent era, and while I hated listening to their never-ending playtime, I put up with it for three months. Then a girl and her boyfriend moved in that argued all the time. Now it's a family, and while kids are fun to listen to on occasion, it's getting old. I am on a tight budget and this residence is ideally located for me, but I am thinking it is time to relocate. I hope anyone else who moves in here has better luck.
