I rented an apartment from River Point Apartments (9 month lease) the lease was to be from 9/1/15 - 5/31/16. On 9/1/15, If you like stench, water, mildew, mold, urine and rust damage on your carpet, carpet padding, carpet tacks and flooring (the flooring is made out of a compressed drywall type material) then this is the rental property for you. In addition, I had a hole in my garage wall that was large enough I could not only see into my neighbors garage but step into it, damaged closet doors, bathub drain stoppers that did not work, and a furnace encased in what appears to be plywood. I made repeated requests for repairs beginning with the leasing agent on 9/1/15, then the property manager, then the district manager, and finally the owner of Legacy and Varin Properties to make repairs to my apartment as it was uninhabitable and or to refund my money. Be prepared for the leasing agent and property manager to cut off all communication with you after your complaints. Which resulting in me having to contact the district manager and owner of property. I paid to River Point Apartments in full $1000.00 for Septembers rent, a $500.00 security deposit and an $80.00 deposit for the garage. After finally receiving a return phone call from the district manager on 9/9/15 and being told by him that River Point (Legacy and Varin) would not be making repairs or refunding my money. His exact words were "thats never going to happen" I informed him I would be contacting an attorney. After that conversation, the district manager called me back shortly after and told me that if I returned the keys they would only charge me rent until the apartment was re-rented. I told him under no circumstances would I ever agree to that, and I again informed him I would be contacting an attorney. On 9/11/15 I went to my apartment to find that not only had they changed the locks to my apartment but they locked my belongings in my apartment as well. I had to call the Police Department on 9/12/15 to be able to have management let me into my apartment to get my belongings. Be prepared, legally they have to file an eviction, they do not do this in attempts try to keep you paying for your apartment after they have locked you out. My attorney contacted the property manager and owner several times starting on 9/11/15 and never got a written response back from owner until 9/17/15. The owners response after talking with his staff was that my complaints had no merit and he went on to describe the hole in my garage wall as being a "dent" possibly from a car door and that I would still be responsible for paying my rent until the apartment is re-rented. I E-mailed the owner directly on 9/22/15 and forwarded to him all the pictures of the apartment included the hole in the garage, and all written correspondance between myself and the property manager with a request for him to call me to discuss these issues. I have still not received a return phone call back from him.

I loved living here. Great apartment, great neighbors, and fairly clean grounds. HOWEVER, after I moved out I was hit with claims of damaging the carpet. They said my dog had urinated on 60-70% of the carpet. (Apparently I never noticed dog urine all over the place?) My dog is 4 years old and has been potty trained since he was a couple months old. Literally, this dog has a steel bladder and WILL NOT go anywhere but outside. They sent me pictures of said damaged carpet, and there were pictures of a DIFFERENT apartment. They told me those photos must have been a mistake but that carpet did have to be pulled???? Kelly, the manager, was SO RUDE and unprofessional. Honestly, I've never met someone so incompetent in a management position. I would never recommend this place to anyone! IT IS NOT WORTH THE RISK!

STAND CLEAR OF RIVER POINTE. I have lived in an apartment setting while in college. Loud, over crowded, and hectic. But this place is far worse. Not only do cars stay in the same spot like previously mentioned, the office help is terrible. I have never been treated with more disrespect. You have to expect a little friction when living so close to people that can range so differently than yourself. But I do not expect to have the office treat residence with such rude behavior. I have no problem with any staff besides one. She is mentioned all over multiple reviews so I highly doubt it is just a few disgruntle residence. Gloria is absolutely the meanest, rudest person I have ever been in contact with. From day one she shunned my application like I wasn't good enough. That is bad management PERIOD and I wish I would have taken notice. She is so unhelpful and unhappy that it is hard to even go to the office to pay rent. I try to avoid her as much as possible. There are multiple residence that feel the same way. Management is suppose to help and care for their residence. And it's ok if that isn't want you think, but then you shouldn't be working in the office of an apartment complex. River pointe has nice apartments and a nice setting, but it's just not worth the head ache of Gloria in the office. If your apartment never has ANY problems or you don't have ANY questions then you will be ok. I have been harassed by Gloria and brought it to the attention of upper management. I have also had residence know my information (like move out date) that I have never shared with them before. Please take caution before getting yourself caught up in this hectic complex.

I always thought the really negative reviews were from people that didn't pay their rent, decided to cut out in the middle of the lease or some other way of trying to skip around the rules. Then I lived here. I was a resident of River Pointe Apartments for almost 3 years. When I first moved in, the staff was great, were very helpful and easy to deal with. Maintenance always took care of things right away and did a great job. As time passed, one office person after another left and they were replaced with people that are, by all measures, just awful at their jobs. I had one member of the office staff say to me "I'm sorry, I'm too busy to deal with that" when I called with a maintenance issue. I spoke with Karen, the property manager, about it and she apologized. Then things like that started happening more and more frequently. Issues or questions I had were answered with "That's really not my job to deal with" and "Oh, I'll leave a note with Karen" which apparently never happened. The maintenance guys were always great, Matt and Jack in particular (I never dealt with Jason so nothing to say either way about him) but the office staff has gone from great to absolutely abysmal. I always paid my rent on time, followed the rules, never caused problems for anybody and this is how I was rewarded. I generally don't ask people to do their jobs well, just to do them and that is beyond the office staff. Don't fall into the same trap I did of the initial meet and greet being friendly and helpful, they dump you pretty quickly after the honeymoon is over.

Rude & Unprofessional Management

The apartments are fine, but the office staff, as well as their "corporate office", are rude, unprofessional and uncompassionate individuals. They speak to you with an attitude and their smugness is never masked. The phone is almost never answered and sent to voicemail where you leave a message that is never returned. They will misinform you of their policies at the drop of a hat while telling you no problem, it's okay only to then hide behind their "policies" and "corporate office" when confusion arises. It takes weeks for maintenance orders to be completed due to the fact that the first few times that you call in your request, no one has record of it, and "they must have forgotten to tell them".

Poor Management

The apartment size and location for the money is not bad. What is bad is the Management of this property. The staff has an attitude and maintenance is sub standard. When the manager hangs up on your because you are not agreeing on a subject that not professional. Maintenance fixed a light pole by putting some wood stakes next to it and then using electrical tape to attach it. Parking is a problem, there is not enough. It is not all bad living there but it does have its down side. Please check it out and talk to people and compare other Apartment complex's before you choose to live there.
