Opened a decade ago, The Museum of Mobile is an educational and entertaining destination in Mobile, Ala. for both adults and children. It is a modern museum housed in the Southern Market/Old City Hall National Historic Landmark building built in 1857. The museum features changing exhibition galleries displaying artifacts and interactive/audio exhibits, a hands-on Discovery Room and a museum store, The Shop in the Southern Market. It offers guests the opportunity to explore the 300-year-old history of Mobile through guided and self-guided tours, educational programming, family fun days and other special events. Additionally, it offers its space for rentals for receptions, dinner parties and other special events.
