We visited Raylen as part of a wine tour (we had a total of 10 people). We were told to eat lunch first. After lunch, the proprietor was overheard rudely telling a couple at the tasting bar "you will just have to wait." He then approached our group and told us "you are late, you are just going to have to wait," among other rude comments. When we explained that we were told to eat lunch first, he then accused us of being "intoxicated" (which was not the case...we are a group of 30- and 40-something professionals, not frat boys). The proprietor then told our driver that he was understaffed. Had he simply been professional and told us that he was overwhelmed and understaffed, it wouldn't have been a problem. I also note that the tasting room was NOT overly busy. Bottom line: the unprovoked and vehement nature of his attack on our group led us to wonder if the proprietor is under some sort of stress/experiencing some emotional issues.Every other vineyard we visited was accomodating, welcoming and happy to have our business. I strongly suggest skipping Raylen (and quite frankly, the wine elsewhere is much better). If you choose to go, I sincerely hope that the tasting room isn't busy (i.e., no more than three or four people) lest you experience verbal abuse like we did.
