In 1974, we made a commitment to specialize in cutting tools. With that commitment made, we phased out power transmission supplies. We then made an agreement with Union Butterfield to become a full line stocking distributor of high speed round tools. The initial order of $25, 000 in metal cutting tools established Johnston Industrial as the largest stocking location in the valley. In 1978, we responded to the needs of our customers in the North Valley, and opened our Modesto store. In Modesto, we have continued the commitment to customer service that our company was founded on.
