Provided by YP.comWow , what amazing place . Started with a hot bloody Mary . Then came the tasty burger . Both served by a smiling and cheerful waiter. You will have to travel to NYC to find a cooler interior space . I'm coming back soon and bringing more friends . Thanks Monroe needed a place like this . Actually every town does !

Provided by YPmobileGreat restraunt; the environment, food, and prices make the tavern one of the best restraunts I've eaten at in the area. Having been there twice in the past two weeks, I would recommend this restraunt to any one who is looking for a good quality place to eat that's affordable!

Provided by YP.comJust ate at tavern last week. The place was totally awesome . A sophisticated, delicious comfort food with a funky twist. Really fun, great music -- awesome for families and people who appreciate the gourmet twist to the food.
I chatted with the owner who also runs great restaurants in south norwalk and he definitely brought something different, and great to monroe!
My wife had the Tavern Burger -- with bourbon spiked onions, bacon and vermont cheddar. This was a very adult, dare I say even gourmet burger. Really delicious and sophisticated.
I had the fried chicken -- which was hands down the best I ever had. Crunchy, seasoned nicely and moist inside. Also the corn, side -- what was in that stuff?? simply addictive...
The other nice touch was the outstanding beer list -- this was a full page. Really top brews from all over the world. And a great compliment to the amazing food we were eating.
The final thing I'll add was the decor and the energy of the place: they used old whiskey barrels and other cool americana odds and ends to make the place really interesting, fun and funky. Its was just bustling with energy... and great music too. They also had a cool patio which I am going to try next time with friends.

Provided by YP.comDon't get the fench onion soup it's was sweet and it should be salty. My girlfriend's ceaser salad was 12 dollars and it was nothing but sandwich lettuce with a splash of dressing, it had four pieces of chicken and a slice of cheese on top. Our appetizer was also 12 dollars for four small scallops wraped in bacon and more sucky lettuce. I got the rib-eye sandwich and it tasted ok but it was supposed to come with sauted onions and mushrooms; instead it had some weird sausage topping on it. Over all the place looks nice but the food sucks and it is over priced.
