The Ouachita Council on Aging is a state designated area agency on aging for the Ouachita Parish Planning and service area. The agency carries out a variety of functions relating to advocacy, planning, coordination, inter-agency linkage, information sharing, brokering, monitoring and evaluation designed to develop all areas of Ouachita Parish in Monroe, La. It designs a variety of activities including exercise and physical fitness programs, health screening and medication management to provide support to the elderly. The activities and services of the Ouachita Council on Aging are open to senior citizens 60-years-of-age. Volunteers from the community also assist the agency with each of its programs
