The last few times I've been to Gateway Grill, the service was poor and the food was below average. The last experience, I gotted ripped off. I tried to order take out, but the poor girl at the front looked stressed and overwhelmed by her duties. She was answering the phone and looking flustered. There was a guy, maybe a cook, sweeping the floor that came up and took my order and he was apologetic and very nice. A few minutes later, she took my order again & rung me up, charging extras for everything, including that substandard cole slaw. The manager or owner rolled up and started barking because the girl needed help up front, but he didn't apologize or offer to help at all. It was a waste of hot air! There were other patrons waiting behind me trying to buy take out beer and a few folks waiting to be seated. It was organized chaos! When it came time to pick up my order, there were 2 of the same order and the girl assured me that I had the right one. I should've checked it because I paid extra and didn't end up with the things I paid for...an extra $7-$10 for cheese and coleslaw! I called and expressed my dissatisfaction and was told that I could come in anytime and they'd give me a few slices of cheese and coleslaw. (No I'm good, you just keep my money as a charitable donation!)

Unless you live in Monroeville or have someone give you a recommendation you might miss out on great pizza and prime rib. The wood fired grill can't be beat for making the food that much better. If you are ever in the Monroeville area you've got to try this place.
