This place is my hidden gem! Hands down the best place I have ever ordered a cake from. They take the time to get to know who the cake is for so they can customize the perfect cake for the perfect occasion. I have been ordering custom cakes for almost every occasion for the past 5 years and I have never been disappointed. When I am craving the infamous Potato Balls or my sweet tooth is acting up I have no choice but to go to Merengue to get my fix. With plenty of parking and conveniently located in the Heart of Old Town Monrovia I find myself frequently walking through the front door. You will not be disappointed with the cleanliness, friendliness, and overall experience when visiting Merengue.

We ha breakfast and lunch and both were very good. We had the tortilla espamola, omelet croissant, apple Danish, and merengue "prita". Everything was delicious.

I live in Monrovia and have visited this bakery/restaurant around 8 times since it opened. Food is very good. Service though needs a little fine tuning. "Mom" takes good care of you. The other staff needs to get more familiarized with the ins and outs of their business. But overall, the place looks promising. Will definitely recommend to friends.
