love this place, not very many drive ins left and this gem is in a terrific location too!!!

In the past month, this restaurant owner (yes, the owner himself - the rest of his staff was quite polite, although embarrassed by his behavior) has has refused to serve my family when we asked for simple substitutions (no bun, wipe the grill before cooking), in order to make the meal safe for our milk allergic child. The entire encounter included the restaurant owner coming out of the cooking area & into the parking lot where he berated me for ordering food from his restaurant.



We have, since, met another family who was treated rudely by the restaurant owner twice - once in the past few weeks, once a year ago, when asking for buns without sesame seeds in order to make the food safe for their children who are allergic to sesame.



Ironically, their website & facebook page say that they take great pride in serving food that is 'cooked to order'. Seems a bit of an empty promise, after our encounters.



And, because this is a tourist area, with many people just travelling through, and because this happened to both of us, unknown to each other until we met afterwards on the internet, I wouldn't be surprised if this restaurant *never* treated food-allergic customers with respect & dignity.
