The original review was published on another website in April, 2008 and applies to both partners, Scates and Korchek. It is republished here to warn potential clients of the risks of hiring either architect.

April, 08: Arrogant and incompetent. Stay away from these guys. The 1st design placed the swimming pool easily in the range errant golf balls. Wedding guests entered next to the dumpster. The general contractor originally bid $20M on a budget the architect set at $12M. They wasted $500K to get down to $20M. For another $750K, they came up with another bad design that screws the members paying for it. Their picture should be in the dictionary next to negligent and incompetent.

February, 09: The construction is complete and the clubhouse is simply bad. The main feature is a long, dark dungeon like hallway. The exterior is ugly. The interior is closed, dark and fails to support the club's needs. The old bldg. had a Grill Room where everyone gathered to eat, drink and socialize. Scates replaced it with a bar that's too small, too noisy, and oriented in the wrong direction as it restricts the terrific view. The casual dining area isolates people and the fine dining is used mostly by the employees on their breaks. The building is sited badly wasting limited land. These architects are simply bad, really bad.
