A. Nicky Hjort, MD, completed her bachelor's degree in biology at University of Texas at Arlington and graduated from medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. She completed her obstetrics/gynecology residency at Saint Josephs Hospital in Denver in 2004 and received several awards for leadership and support of the certified nurse midwife program. She was on the teaching faculty at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, where she was honored with two teaching awards. After four years of private practice in Florida, she returned to the Monterey Peninsula to join Montage Medical Group as its first OB/GYN. Dr. Hjort wants to know her patients and their families personally, to assist them in living the healthiest, happiest life possible. Outside of medicine, her passions include her family and writing novels and children's picture books. She considers her children, Emma and Jake, her greatest teachers about life and love. Her favorite quote is: Be the change you want to see in the world.
