Established in 2006, the Plans and Public Works Department is administered by the City of Monterey in California. The department is responsible for improving public and private planning and project development activities in the city. It provides code enforcement, neighborhood improvement, and street and storm drainage system maintenance services. The Plans and Public Works Department s housing and property management division develops and administers a variety of programs and policies to enhance available housing opportunities and fulfill the community service needs of disabled individuals, senior citizens and persons at risk of homelessness. The Plans and Public Works Department also coordinates a range of house rental and ownership programs for residents.
