Provided by YP.comBuying a home is stressful enough. You do not need HTL of Montgomery making things worse. We were pre-approved for a loan and were under contract to buy a house. Ten days after sending her the contract for purchase I asked the lady who was handling our loan if there was any way that we would be denied the loan. She said there was nothing to worry about. We were denied the loan. This forced us to find temporary housing arrangements with two small children since we had turned in our notice to vacate when she told us that we had nothing to worry about. We were then told that there was another loan that she would apply for and that it was a sure bet. We were denied it too. We also received a denial letter for a loan we were not told we applied for. We have decent credit, had over $10,000 for the down payment and were financing a lot less than we were approved for. We were perplexed by the troubles we were having. On the fourth loan we received approval with conditions. I had all of the needed paperwork to her by the following morning and she let it sit and wait for four days before sending it to the underwriter. On one of the items I spent 6 hours driving so that we would have the paperwork that day and not have to wait for it in the mail. She told me on several occasions that she would call my real estate agent and let him know what was going on. He told me at one point that she had never called him. She would not return my phone calls, and would barely contact me at all to let me know what was going on. On at least two occasions she told me that she would call me the following afternoon and then left early that day without calling. She told me one time that she was eating lunch and that she would call me later. She never did. After not returning my agents call during the week he called her on a Sunday. She told him that she was trying to enjoy her day. When I spoke to her she had a demeaning tone and made me feel like I was in imposition to her.
They finally pulled through, but only when we, the sellers, and both of our agents started demanding that things start getting better. After we demanded some action we closed on the property in a week’s time. Bottom line: HTL robbed me of all the joy of buying a house and created the most stressful time in my life as my wife and I wondered where we and our 2 yr. old and 6 mo. old would be living the next week. If you love helpful and sane people do not use this company. If you would like to be jerked around and feel like you are an inconvenience then here is your company.
