LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is a community blood supplier for local hospitals in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Based in Montgomery, Ala., it provides a variety of services in support of safe blood supply and ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion-related activities. The laboratory practices and procedures at the blood center conform to the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA'88) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) (as per Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations). LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is a member of the AABB and features in the College of American Pathologist (CAP) proficiency list. Some of the community partners of the blood center are Atlanta Hawks, Southern Kitchen, Heals, Rocket Magazine and The River.
