The Oswego Fire Protection District covers an area of more than 60 square miles in Kendall and Will counties in Illinois. It operates several fire stations that provide fire protection, rescue and first response services for medical emergencies. The district offers fire prevention, safety and public education programs. The Oswego Fire Protection District provides new construction plan review and fire cause and origin investigation services. It organizes community block parties, school visits and station tours. The district maintains a staff of over 50 firefighters. Formed in 1936, the Oswego Fire Protection District serves a population of approximately 40,000 residents. Its fire stations maintain fleets of engines, tankers, boats, and rescue and brush fire trucks.
