I had Cummins ISX engine power issues with my truck on my way to Montrose. I couldn't find a local Freightliner service center so I called the one in Grand Junction only to be told I have to leave it at the shop for a first-com first-served appointment and it will take approximately 2-3 days for the initial diagnosis & then repairs will be based on the availability of parts & technicians & I have to pay for a hotel and wait for however long it takes. Needless to say, not happy. I spent a while on the internet & phone calling all over to see if someone could help me. No-one could help me and kept saying I'd have to go to Grand Junction. Finally I called Montrose Heavy Truck Repair and spoke with Luis about my issue & he said he'd talk with the owner & call me back if they could help me. He called back quickly & said he could get it in for a diagnosis if I could be there in a couple hours. Another job was delayed so they could fit me in. I arrived at their shop and was met by Manual who came out to the truck with his laptop and on-line Cummins software so he could diagnose it. In about 15 minutes he'd found the sensors that had failed & told me they'd have them the next day by 7am. It's an older shop and I was nervous at my first impression but they had all the right equipment & knowledge & I was desperate so I took the appointment. It was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. I was there at 7 the next day & they got right to work. Despite one of the sensors being almost impossible to get to, they made it happen. They also heard an air leak & in the course of finding it, they also found a fan motor mount arm that was seriously cracked & a major risk of failure in the future. They welded it securely & had me ready to go in a little over a day. The charge for all the work was very reasonable considering all they'd done. Honest, friendly, very skilled and all the right eqpt to complete the job. They have my highest recommendation. Bart Corbett
