I contacted Devereux Air Conditioning & Heating on Sunday, Dec. 4th. I received a call back on Monday morning of the 5th. After discussing the HVAC challenges with Mr. Devereux and clearly explaining that I had two Nest thermostats to install he reassured me that they would be able to address my problems. Wanting to keep the business local and use a business man that came recommended on Montville Moms I setup an appointment with Mr. Devereux for 8:30AM on Wed. Dec. 7th .

On Wed. morning I awaited the arrival of Devereux Air Conditioning & Heating LLC. After 9:00AM passed I called the office only to find Mr. Devereux answering the phone. When I asked him why he or his workers had not arrived, he responded that he had no idea that we had a hard appointment at 8:30AM and that because I worked from my home that someone would be visiting eventually in the day. I informed him that we did in fact have an appointment at 8:30AM and that I had already put off my own customers waiting for his service techs. He said that unfortunately, he had no one to available to come out at that time and he could send someone in a “couple of hours”. God, forbid he got off his rear end and drive over to the next town to make up for his complete inability to properly schedule or manage his business and save his reputation.

He then informed me that he had a training class on Nest Thermostats that Friday (Dec. 9th). He conveniently forgot to inform me (when ask point blank if he was familiar with the brand) that he and he staff were both untrained and unqualified to even install the device, let alone speak about the product. I have rarely come across such and unknowledgeable, unprofessional and downright dishonest contractor before. It is painfully obvious that this “professional” has little ability to run a modern business in the 21st century with his lack of understanding about modern equipment and inability to manage a calendar.
