Metallurgical and Environmental Testing Laboratories (M.E.T. Lab) was created in 1987 and is a division of Miller Consolidated Industries. Miller Consolidated started in 1969 with a tool steel warehouse under the name of Quality Steels Corp. In order to provide further customer service Metallurgical Service, Inc., a commercial heat treating company, was purchased in 1973. As customer needs continued Dayton Metal Finishing, a metal finishing company, was formed in 1980. Miller Consolidated Industries was also established in the same year as the parent company. Further expansion was seen in 1984 with the purchase of National Heat Treating, another commercial heat treating company, in Columbus, Ohio. Metallurgical and Environmental Testing Laboratories (M.E.T. Lab) is located in Moraine, Ohio.
