Provided by YPmobileI am 67. I think that the doctors here prefer cosmetic issues that are more profitable for them to dealing with skin cancers and older people. I felt that the doctors patronized and talked down to me. I was sceduled for a one-time microderm abrasion to improve the appearance of a surgical scar on my nose. I chickened out and cancelled because I dreaded the pain and embarrassment of a very red and sore nose. I'm now having a procedure done with laser injections that is done in five treatments over five months. This is done at a wonderful practice in Houma. I feel cared for with respect.
While I'm going there, I will have a skin cancer frozen that was frozen a while back at Grafton. There is a big circle of red skin that has circled where the cancer was frozen. They didn't get it all.
I want to be clear that they were never rude or unkind to me. I just felt that they, like so many young professionals, don't really want to take up their time with an 'old woman.' It's hard enough to realize how fast time has gone and that I am an old woman without getting the treatment that so often goes with it.

Provided by YP.comThis is a HORRIBLE dermatologist office both in actual practice and in patient relations. I had nothing but bad experiences with the entire staff. I had some moles removed that were the size of a maybe a pencil eraser and now have a scar that is an inch wide and two inches long! the stitches put in were crooked and wound didn't even heal right and when they wanted to put steri strips on it to keep it closed, the nurse informed the doctor they were out. The only instructions I ever received were "don't go swimming in the bayou" and "put vaseline on it". No information at all how to care for it, even after I asked. I ended up having to go to the ER to get antibiotics and get the wound cared for properly. Two years later now I have a brutal scar that changes color as blood flows to or from it and it has keloids. The staff belittled me with comments of how I shouldn't be in any pain or should never have a child because I wouldn't be able to handle childbirth...newsflash I've since had a nearly 8lb baby by C-SECTION and that surgery/scar was 1000 times more bearable than this!
