The chadar ochel, or dining hall, at Emma Kaufmann Camp serves six meals each day including day and evening snacks. Having a kosher kitchen, all meals are served cafeteria-style in two shifts to ensure that all campers have plenty of opportunity and time to eat. Emma Kaufmann Camp, a traditional, child-centered Jewish camp environment promotes individual growth, group cooperation and positive Jewish experiences and memories. The camp offers a variety of programs for campers, ages 7-16 and entering grades 2-10. A certified member of the American Camp Association, the camp has provided growing summer experiences to campers for nearly 100 seasons. Emma Kaufmann Camp is the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh s resident overnight camp. The camp is located just outside of Morgantown, W.Va., on Cheat Lake. Hills and valleys on the camp s wooded 200-acre site surround the facilities. Emma Kaufmann Camp s history goes back to 1908, when the camp had its first summer as The Laurel Y, later to be named Emma Farm.
